I have just come off the phone from speaking to Jenny, Geoff's wife.
She would like me to thank all of you that have sent messages to
her via the forum and I have promised her that I will print them out
and pass them all on to her.

Geoff's funeral will be held at the Hereford Crematorium next Monday
the 20th February at 2:15pm. I shall be there and I'm sure Jenny will
be pleased to see any of his fellow Alfisti if they can make it.

Both Geoff and Jenny have been involved in work for the RNLI over
the years. Geoff was and Jenny still is on the local committee. She
has asked that if people wish to make a donation it be directed to
the RNLI. Bobda will be setting something up for people to make
paypal donations I believe but I'll leave it for him to let everyone
know how that works.

I'm very proud to have had Geoff as a friend for several years now
and am pleased to have met him both when I lived in Luton and he
lived in Harpendon and, more recently, in the new home that he and
Jenny had bought in Herefordshire and which he was so proud of.

He always had a wise word and never reacted in haste but gave
things careful and balanced consideration. He was very talented with
his hands and some of us will remember the photos he posted on
here of the wonderful models he made from scratch.

I have always enjoyed his sense of humour often demonstrated in
his choice of music  But most of all, as has already been said by
others, he was always a true gentleman! My life has been enriched
in knowing him and I shall miss him dearly.

Good bye my friend. Rest well.

Thanks Steve. :)

AO members wishing to make a donation to the RNLI in memory of GJ can do so directly, or alternatively a payment can be made to myself and we will make it a larger AO community donation - it's up to the individual.

If you wish to be a part of the larger AO donation, my Paypal address is [email protected]. Please mark your payment as a gift.

Thanks for posting the funeral arrangements....I intend to take some time off Monday afternoon to attend. This news has shocked me to the core - The number of times I messaged GJ, threatening to meet him at his local (only over the hill from me), but never managed it...The guilt I am feeling is just awful. Such an opportunity lost. I intend to drive the Spider in tribute. Any one else able to attend ?

Don't punish yourself, mate.

I shall be there. Spoke to Jenny again this afternoon. She's holding up
quite well although, at the moment, there's plenty to keep her busy. In
my experience it'll be in the quiet moments after Monday when it will hit
home.
