Thanks in advance!! Chris.

Chris,

There is a "known issues" section and I would recommend taking a tour as well as reading a few back posts in the GT section. There is lots of free helpful advice and knowledge lurking in this forum and plenty of people kind enough to post it.

There was also a good compilation of GT "features" posted within the last 3 months or so. I too am new to Alfas but it appears to be good practice to check oil and fluid levels frequently. Enjoy the car!

Hello Chris

I drive a brera so cant comment on the Gt cloverleaf , My brother has a GT and hasnt had any real problems except MPG isnt great ( hes is petrol though )...he has had a few issues with build quaility and had a few little things replaced under warrenty ( light lenses steaming up / seat adjusters not working ) apart from that nothing much to worry about ....one thing though ...He doesnt get the admiring looks that my brera gets !

Enjot the car !

As it is a diesel the main thing to check is the waterpump - was this changed when the cam belt was done - Alfa are offically saying that the cam belt should be done at 72k miles or 5 years but most users will change at 60k miles or 4 years (which ever occurs first) this drives the waterpump which is begining to show as a weak link so should be changed at each cam belt change.

Other than this the motor will take a remap to up the power well - there are several threads on this matter.

Enjoy it mate just keep an eye on oil levels as it's diesel it will burn a lot of it, anti roll bar bushes tend to perish and lower and upper arm bushes on most models, you can't beat the looks though on forecourts, mine is 11 years old but when it's clean like in my display pic it gets more looks than any boy racer stuff etc :)

Where you get that info from Matt .

Mine hasn't used a drop , and I've had it 3months and done well over 2000 miles.
ERM.....I concur. I have covered over 10,000 miles in mine since March and I have had to top it up once. I think the only reason it needed topping up was a result of settling down after an oil cooler pipe and oil cooler rad change - the top up was over 1,000 miles ago. I check it on a weekly basis usually but the checks have become more frequent, for the moment anyway...just paranoia i suppose.
