As most of you would know I have a 164 Quadrifoglio which used to be in the family that I brought back towards the end of last year.
Just thought I'll start a thread on this car's problems and progress for those who might be interested and would appreciate advice from those with more knowledge than the little I have.

This is what I posted in the "Show us your car/s" thread 28-9-2011:

Here are a few older pics of my pride and joy, the 164 Quadrifoglio 3.2
This car was brought by my father in 2003, I believe he was the second owner.
The car underperformed compared to our 164 Super 3.0 24v we had at the time.
In the process of trying to figure our why the car ran bearings on the dyno at Dastek.
This seemed to have been the problem all along.
We then got the engine redone by Dawie De Villiers from Glenwood Motors replacing the crank with a Gta crank,
this upping the capacity to 3.2.
We then fitted a good exhaust system and a unichip.
The car ran like a beast, we did many track days at Zwartkops Raceway and had quite a few TLGP's scaring some of the bigger guns! 8)

Some of you (JacquesL, Eric etc) might remember the car from back then.

My dad sold the car in 2006 and it went through a couple of owners and sadly went backward condition wise.
I recently brought the car from a fellow enthusiast by the name of Nelson.
My plan is to get the car back to its former glory ... or even more!

Here are some pics of it when it still had the silver multispokes with polished lip.

GREAT looking car, as per usual you know what I'll say...either get black 18" GT wheels and a H&R drop or drop it like its hot on those 17's.
I like that you guys have bought it back...keep it in the family!

DNA gave me a spin in that car 6 or 7 years ago. It was bloody awesome. So much top end power there. And the soundtrack is addictive.
Yes, maybe drop it a bit? Especially at the back?

Nah, as much as I love the 18" Gt multispokes they simply don't suite the character of the 164 Quadrifoglio.
On a 164 it would work well.
The problem with dropping it on the 17's is the side skirts are already very low, so can't drop it to much unless I go for 18" or 19" wheels.
I want a set of Black OZ SuperTutismo's.

But you drove it a few months ago aswell
I love that kick you get when it hits 6 000rpm, as you said: "all hell breaks lose"
