I am having a problem with my Multiecuscan. I have the full licence version. The couple of times I have used it recently,i have had no problems accessing all the systems. I have checked dpf status,reset the service light etc.
Today,i plugged it in and kept getting check cable connection and port settings,only when trying to access the engine system. All the other systems connect with no problems.
Can anybody shed any light on what might be causing this?

This could easily be a software or hardware issue unfortunately. When I run any specialist programs on my Windows machines, I make sure that these programs are whitelisted with my Anti-virus software, which does for some reason can cause all sorts of weird problems.

Software:
* If you have Anti-virus installed try adding MultiECUScan to the whitelist, so the Anti-virus doesn't try scanning and removing false-positive files.
* Try uninstalling, restarting and re-installing MultiECUScan

Hardware:
* Try another interface, sometimes the little bluetooth readers can be a bit tempermental, much like cars themselves!

Have you removed the green OBD adapter cable before trying to access engine ECU?

With the cable connected to your PC but not connected to your car what does the MES test return ?

Try spraying the pins on the OBD connector on both the lead and car with contact cleaner. Not WD40 (unless it is the new WD40 specialist contact cleaner) but something like the following then plug in and unplug the lead a few times.

It does not use the green OBD adaptor cable for the Brera

I have a OBD code reader that used to work ok but that now comes up with linking error.The contact cleaner idea sounds good.I will pick some up in the morning and give it a go.

I have now sprayed the pins and OBD connector with contact cleaner,still no go. So,this is where im at. The code reader that worked before,is now saying linking error. The Multiecuscan connects to all the other systems,eg service,airbag body computer etc but not the engine system. I also have my ecu blanked and use a Fixitsan dongle to cancel the engine management light,which has worked up until now. This obviously connects to the engine management side of the OBD socket. It has now stopped working and light is coming on.
From this,it seems that the OBD socket must be where te fault is.
I looked into buying a OBD tester but dont really want to spend out on a piece of equipment i will probably never use again.
Can anybody tell me if i can check the OBD socket any other way?

I took the car to a garage today. They plugged her in to the diagnostics machine and came up with the same result. Connecting to all the systems apart from engine. I phoned Lawrence at Autolusso to ask his advice but he couldnt really shine any light on the problem.
Not sure what i need to do next. any ideas would be much appreciated.

Can anybody tell me what the connector,on the left hand side,with a purple securing strap, that plugs into the fuse board is? Could this be the main connector for the OBD socket?

I know the socket but sorry don't know what its purpose is.

I think the Purple connector is power distribution to the dashboard. the connection to the engine bay is behind the fuse panel

Thanks for that. I have now booked it in to a ecu specialist. Needs sorting and not really knowing what im doing,thought it would be the best bet.
