hi

ive just took my 2001 156 in for MOT and failed on nearside rear brake pads - also had advisory notices for offside and nearside front and offside rear along with both front discs - any one have a rough idea how much all this work will cost if i get it all done - its at an independant garage

cheers

If it's 2.0 TS, front disc set approx £40 rear disc set approx £30. Front pads £36, rear pads £20 and about 2 to 3 hours labour charge. £300 max to do the whole lot, front and back I would say.

Buy all the stuff off e-bay for about a £100 front and rear, download instructions off the net and away you go, i had the same issues with my wifes 156 did all the work myself nae bother.

imho you'd be best to buy 4 discs [ 2 front & 2 rear ] + 2 set of pads

just check the fronts are 'vented'

also check the size of the rea rdisc, as they could be either 251mm or 274mm, they size changed in late 2001 for some models
