Any ideas on the following :

1. - On two occassions recently ( both in rain ) the car wont idle it cuts out but then as quickly as it develops the problem it clears up.

2. It has developed a noise which sounds as the though the exhaust is scrapping on the ground - which it isn't - butI don't notice it inside the car - seems to be louder when its idling and low revs.

3. The temp doesn't run at 90 which appears to be the norm from reading through some of the posts - thiough it does get there when sat in traffic, heater is fine tough.

There are no warning lights and all appears fine but bit worried by the noise. I have no idea where to start and wouldnt be any good if I did as hubby doesn't do car

Am planning on going up to Leeds soon where family can look at it but don't want to risk doing it any damage

cant help with 1 but i had the same noise when my cat converters insides broke up/check ebay for cat;
3 sounds like a faulty thermostat
hope that help a little

3, Thermostat needs replacing, should sit at just under 90 all the time after it's warmed up. :thumbs:
