Sorry, I didn't realise it was locked until I'd posted! I didn't unlock it, it just let me post. When I went to lock it I saw that it was already locked! Should I delete my comment? Shall I, huh, huh?

Wrong, just so wrong...

Not a 'one off' occurrence either - makes me see red and I view it as an abuse of a moderators position here...

For once, I had little to do with 'that thread' as I am boring myself with the same old mantra...

The chance to post an opinion was there for all, once locked, case closed - end of...

I unlocked this thread, just to say this. :p

Unfortunately you didn't lock it fast enough to stop 1of1 getting in another post :tut:

Now request the delete Lock No.16 :borg:

IT WAS NOT DONE ON PURPOSE!

It's threads like this that make me wonder why the hell I bother.

Cheers for that Jon, yet again.

Too late Jon, I'm afraid. I was so ****ed off last night with your tirade that I almost left here myself. I made a genuine mistake, apologised for it and explained how it happened, all in the public domain and you STILL chose to have another go.

I'm sorry that Nev has chosen to leave, but, faced with same treatment, I'm hardly surprised.

And Bobda was joking. I didn't lock this thread so he had no need to unlock it. You need to lighten up.

It's the only forum that I use that has such a strong
social side to it. The social side has grown our of the
forum rather than it being a forum for an existing
group.

As a result, whether we understand it or not, things
affect people deeply. Not the same people at the same
time. But people. I'm sick of being told that this is
just an internet forum. It used to be but it has been
positively encouraged to be more than that. And that
happened years before many of the folks who try to
bring it down to the level of 'just a forum' were here.

Or is that what people would now prefer? Just an internet
forum? A place where people really don't have to give
consideration to the feelings of others? Where people try
to shut others up because they have been upset by
occurences on the forum?

This is real life folks. Stop kidding yourself that it isn't.
All the words you see on the screen in front of you were
written by a real person, even the trolls are real people.
Stop riding roughshod over the emotions of the other
contributors to the forum. Treat everyone with respect.
The same respect that you expect to receive.

Or why not shut down all the social aspects of the place?
Turn it into one of those thoroughly boring forums where
people ask straight questions, sometimes get an answer,
and then never post again.

People have cried out for this place to be more adult. Well
start behaving like adults. And stop using the word adult
as a cover for bad behaviour. For goodness sake, we have
a fantastic resource here, lets remember that and stop
squabling like children.

If only Gibbo! I think that it's quite beyond some people to act like the adults they are. Everyone is capable of trolling behaviour if they care to try. And some people really can't help themselves when a topic rears its head. The Apple v Other 'contest' is a regular one that always causes huge issues.

As others have said, incredulously, why should a person's choice cause such a response, but the truth is some people are very precious and just can't stand to hear a differing view point without becoming offensive.

If this thread is still open....

Looks as if it is.....

I fully concur with the Gibster and the hot lady in the back - by the way these are both people I've come to appreciate and, well, love is a bit strong, but like is a bit weak - by what they say on the forum and how they do it.

I have no idea what this is about, but I feel that perhaps next time someone feels this way, a quick PM to the mod in question to enquire as to why this has happened might be the most sensible solution.

This one really is closed now.... if you want it reopened PM me to discuss.
