The engine cover shouldn't move that much, it should be firm on the rubber mounts (try removing it completely and see what the issue is....maybe it just needs a good push to put it back on properly).

Also, my turbo housing is like that too (not quite as bad as yours though).

That was a quick reply lol. It;s just the back of the engine cover that lifts. Theres bolt things on the top that I thought might have something to do with it but cant find anything to tighten them.

I'm bored

I think the bolts are fake, they don't do anything. The cover basically pops on to the mounts, but sometimes it needs a bit of force to get the cover back on.

Have you taken the car to the garage recently? I'm just thinking that the cover has been removed and not put back on properly.

My mum said that a few mins ago. Whats putting me off going is that they'll probably say "oh we'll book the car in and have a wee look at that for you." next thing you now you've been waiting 4 hrs to get it back. Was hoping to fix it myself lol.

I think the best thing to do is to remove it completely (may take a bit of force, but it'll come off), and then have a good look.

To put it back on: These covers usually 'pop' on to the mounts so you'll know if it's on properly. Again, this may take a bit of force (don't break it though, lol).

Surface oxidation on the turbo is perfectly normally, will vary from car to car due to humidity in the area its used
Ahh i see. Well it stays in scotland where it rains most days lol. I was thinking it was because it was sitting outside the dealers during the winter.

Give it a good push down Aimee. I noticed this on a MultiAir I was handing over and asked one of the Techs who just came through and pushed it down making me look a wee bit silly
If you're no sure though I'll see to it at Knockhill for you

Took the car up to the dealer today and discovered that it's one of the wee rubber things where the rubber mounts are (or something like that) is missing. There should be 3 but mine only has 2 so they have ordered another bit for me and I'm also getting new lights because of the surround the warps:thumbs:

I have the same rusty turbo housing on my new Mito, call up service centre today and the SA told me that he can clean it up for me but will return to this state after a while.
Then I asked him if I can apply anti-rust oil after cleaning to slow down the rusting, he said no because any oil will evaporate into white smoke due to high heat on the area.
To no avail, I will get it clean only before selling.
