This is a very silly question but can't find an answer anywhere to all who owns a MiTo does it have Disk Brakes on all corners or are they Drum Brakes at the back?

This sounds silly but i can't find it in the brochure and i have been in the dealership numerous times during the ordering process but always forget to look at the back wheels.

Many Thanks

Many thanks surprised they don't cover it in the brochure, well i guess it make sense if has disks on all corners as drums would look silly with alloys, it is disks for all trim levels is it?

Do any new cars actualy come with drum brakes? The Mito come with discs all round. You get Brembos on the 155 & 170bhp
Yeah, the equivalent Corsa to my 95bhp, comes with rear drums and my bro's Polo he had a few years back had them also. He got rid of that Polo very quickly, because it had close to no stopping power! :/

What colour are they on the MiTo 1.4 78 BHP Sprint?
If you look at the old names, only Veloce and Cloverleaf have Red painted brake callipers. On the newer names, only Distinctive and Quadrifoglio Verde have Red painted brake callipers.

Junior/Turismo/Lusso and Progression/Sprint have normal callipers and they are Silver.

Engine level does not matter, only the trim dictates what appearance the car has.

I think most hatches still do... My Twingo GT had drums on the back, but can't say I noticed a lack of stopping power...
Weight transfer under braking means the rears don't do much (when going forwards!) so drums at the rear work fine, and can be more reliable (apart from stuck 'auto' adjusters...)

Sporty cars like Alfas and MINIs have rear discs for styling reasons. My old Rover 220SD
did too, because I had the (then optional) ABS, but the discs rusted so badly I had
to replace them long before the pads wore down...

I must admit drums do look rubbish, so rear discs are worthwhile!
