I've tried lots of places for wheel allignment on the 156/156 GTA over the years. Yet no matter what other places do the tyres always wear on an edge. Since discovering Mike Stokes in bournemouth for allignment I wouldn't use anyone else as it is always spot on. It costs a little extra but you get a full print out so you can see what has been tweaked and what it was before  So here's me giving him the plug he deserves and recommending him for all GTA boys in the area:thumbs:

That's good to hear.

Wheel alignment is the bain of my life. I used to use Supertracker who were up the road but they have moved premises and now just make the machines.

Do you think he's worth the trip from Portsmouth way? Any chance you could PM me the price too?

Yeah I'd say its worth the trip as I'm yet to find anyone who can get it right other than him. Will probably take an hour or so for him to do it but you get a nice printout so you can see what has been adjusted which is always good rather than a simple yep all done. :) Will pm you a rough price tonight when I get home and look at the bill. It is quiet expensive mind.

There's not many places in a given area that can do a good job, in Birmingham I've narrowed down a few places which are highly recommended, both mine need to be done especially the sw which I reckon my dad has hit a few things cos the steering feels well out, when I ask has he hit any roundabouts etc, he says it's my fault for making him drive it, so I've got to get him something else.

i was thinking maybe a old shape lexus is 2.0 auto. i was gonna get a 5door golf gti dsg, but i really got to stop thinking for myself. i know he likes a merc c class or similar but i reckon the lexus will be more reliable and less costly to run, just need to find one with parking sensors.

Just took to the car to local plume Tyres for a basic wheel alignment, £22 but the car came out perfect as I remembered it before my father prob hit some things with his driving. Watched the guy and toe was out quite bad front and rear. Rears sorted themselves out when the front were adjusted. They did full 4 wheel alignment, but when I asked to check on the computer, caster and camber wasn't adjustable. Happy with the results And the guy spent about 30mins On it due to seized bolts.

Not saying they are bad mate. I tried lots of cheaper places but no one could get either of my 156's to track correctly and i ended up with uneven tyre wear front and back. Don't have that problem with MS

That's odd!, surely they haven't gone up that much?, i had all three of my jam jars done there last year for £35.99. A-Line, Wellington Rd, Dudley, DY1,1RE. 01384 671037. A lot of race & rally teams use them.

I meant the local place I took it too, didn't have time to take up to a-line but will do next time they were recommended as the best, will take the wife's x5 there thou as that will need proper 4 wheel alignment at the mo got serious uneven wear and the tyres cost a fortune.
