Just been to test drive a Golf GTI. Sorely tempted at the price they are offering it for. Practical (5 door), not bad mpg (compared to what I have now anyhow), fast (and that's before the inevitable remap ), comfortable. They have a lot going for them to be fair. Obviously nowhere near as handsome a an Alfa but not a bad looking machine in my view

Still got some GT's to look at yet though...and a 159 2.4 to consider

Second time I have test drove a Golf GTI now so there must be something in it. Missus wanta me to get another Alfa though, she looked a bit gutted

Need to make up my mind very soon as have to have a new car for Monday  (unfortunately I am not massively spoilt for choice with my budget Alfa wise at present)

Your mrs has great taste BTW. Usually the other half is trying to steer most posters into a Eurobox!

PM GTLeigh. He might have some good tips for forums.

Also the two of you could have mini-meets to compare panel -
gaps and suchlike.

:)

Graham, get a £500 145, run it for a year and instead of spending time looking at replacement cars, fix it up. In 12 months time you will make money on the car, surprise everyone by not having changed it for a year and be able to afford another V6!
