Well, mice somewhere.

Seems to be the passenger side of the car, and the new CV joint has not sorted this out.

Seems to be influenced by the car being in gear and dipping the clutch to relieve it, not influenced by braking. This suggests not the brake pads catching, but something mechanical. Engine seems fine.

Worth noting I am having dodgy handling, all suspension replaced bar drivers CV joint, getting this fixed on Wednesday.

This car is an enigma.

How about the engine mounts?

The engine is the main structure at the front, the bumper frame only holds the bumper and the radiator in place. If it's "loose" it will cause the front end to flex.

worth a look

Sounds very much like the release bearing in the clutch. Does the nosie (whine) go away when the clutch is being engaged/disengaged. Athough the bearing can still whine at idle (neutral) and in gear, but this is when its REALLY worn and desperately needs replacing before it collapses.

Worth a look?
