How important is the master key for our cars. I have come accross a couple of cars which dont have them. Also does this affect the value of the car.

it shouldnt make any difference to the value but it will make it easier to sell if you have it.

Allows you to program new keys to the immobiliser.

So, not important if you don't need a new key (or ECU or immobiliser....)

You may have a job selling the car on without one. Could be a good bargaining point when buying any car without. It's up to you if you want to take the risk, you knwo the consequences.

As 155's are cheap to buy I'd wait and get one with the key, just to be sure.

Any good auto-electrician can make you a key using the existing one as a template, you no longer need the master key in most circumstances, also, many auto-electricians have the kit to re-code the Alfa and Fiat CODE system, bit like Flashing the BIOS on your PC. New code flashed in, old code dead. It scares me what you can do with a laptop!
