Hey Alfa Lovers,

I have jioned the forum as I am hoping to get some advice on a potentail purchase. I am considering buying a 2004 Alfa Romeo 147 2 litre selespeed. I keep hearing the same old Alfa's are unreliable, the electric's are rubbish, you'll constantly be breaking down.

If anyone has any I'd love some honest advice, Am i making the right decision in purchasing one?

I look forward to anyones advice.

Many thanks:p  :)

Hi, Welcome to the site

I'm also new to the site and Alfa ownership, infact i dont even pick the car up until Thursday. I'm getting a 2003 Alfa 147 2.0L TS but the manual version. I heard all the same rumors as you about reliability, service costs etc. Being a long way from an expert i did a bit of research and decided to avoid the selespeed transmission as its "just another thing to go wrong" and can be costly to fix.

Thats just my two cents
