I shifted a lot of the parts I had from the car I broke for spares a while ago but still have the engine. To be more accurate, my brother still has the engine which is cluttering up his garage :embarrassed: so I'd like to shift it.

Are there any regular buyers out there for this sort of thing or is it best to go the old flea bay route?

Any ideas on value? It has about 78,000 miles on it, the injectors are still attached.

I'd love a 2.0 diff/back axle, got any of those kicking about?

I've already asked Nick if he'd like to swap his auto diff for my 4.1 but he doesn't seem very keen, wonder if I could swap it at SAD without him noticing .......

Just had my spider restored re spray new roof new seat covers & black carpet trim but the existing boot carpet / trim was shot. Is this something you may still have from the above Spider

Hi Nick, I may be interested in taking it off you but have no idea about how much it is worth! I don't need one as my engine is fine, but it may be worth having as a little project to strip down and rebuild for possible future use! Just a thought! PM me when you have an idea of cost. Thanks. TT

Sorry, the carpet was a tan/nasty stains combo so I threw it out.

Hi Nick, I may be interested in taking it off you but have no idea about how much it is worth! I don't need one as my engine is fine, but it may be worth having as a little project to strip down and rebuild for possible future use! Just a thought! PM me when you have an idea of cost. Thanks. TT
Hi Tom, I'm thinking ca. £400 but I really have no idea. I paid £200 for a rough Fiat Punto 1.2l engine a while ago so I'm basing it a little on that.

I do have the diff. but it would need a half shaft from another 2.0litre as I managed to mess up one of the half shafts when trying to change a bearing.

Sadly Martin (fortunately maybe!) I won't make SAD as the Auto is with a transmission specialist at the moment as I have problems with the gearbox. Problems as in total loss of drive but intermittent. A real PITA.

Shame Nick - of course you could convert your auto to manual - the specialists tell me you'd have to change the diff to a standard 4.1 tho, funnily enough I've got one on mine so we could do a straight swap .... , gotta give me credit for tenacity ........., hopefully see you at the Giro

There is a thread on the Alfa BB about a conversion to manual so that could be an option for me as I have all the bits needed.
It sounds straightforward although I have never taken a gearbox out or replaced a clutch so that would be a learning curve :nervous:. The guy on the BB didn't change the diff. though, so his acceleration won't be too hot I guess.

I reckon the Nord has more than enough grunt to pull the auto diff which is why I want one as I tend to do relaxed cruising as opposed to trashing it everywhere - although it gets a good thrashing now and then just to clean the pipes out of course...

As previously mentioned, I have no idea of the state of it as it had been removed from the car before I acquired the lot. Most of the ancillaries are off it but it has the injectors, which I will leave on.

If anyone fancies it please make me an offer. Nothing sensible refused, as long as you can pick it up in the next few weeks.

I also have a boot, bonnet, doors and rear bumper if anyone needs those.

The engine and gearbox are now sold to a good home, and the bonnet is under discussion.

I have a number of other bits too which may help someone:

Seats
doors
bootlid
rear bumper
washer bottle
expansion tank
sun visors
lever for boot release
lever for fuel release
centre console handbrake
quarterlight catches
propshaft (would need refurbishing)
"A" post plastic trim
latches for hood
switches, windows etc
various chrome strips
OVS
