Morning all - I have two intake manifolds here & having stood them side by side, I realise that they have differences - notably in the thermostat placement and also the number/placement of water inlets. Can anyone explain the reasons for differences and fitment/suitability for a '72 2000Gtv? IE, which one would I use & in which case, what is the other one for?

the screw in thermostat (bottom one) is early, the 60's type
I'd say the top one is closer to what you need.

Tom, the top one is the one I have on my 1972 S2 Spider.

Dropped it off with my friendly vapour blasting man... problem is, having had the cylinder head vapour blasted before being worked on, I now feel all other engine parts need the same treatment in order to look nice!

He's got sump, manifold, air filter mounting, cam cover.... and is probably going to be given yet more parts soon enough.
