Took my 159 there to diagnose a running fault charged me for replacing parts it didn't need and when I got the fault fixed by a indie in pershore I went back to Bristol street to ask for a refund as clearly they had not dont what I had paid for, they didn't want to know

Put my 147 into Northgate Alfa in Canterbury today. Still feeling very fobbed off. Was told the ridiculously heavy clutch is normal for the 147 JTD (this forum suggests otherwise) and the harsh vibration/grumble under full acceleration is normal. So normal that it only happened for the first time two weeks ago. To make matters worse they told me the squeaking wishbone, which I had noticed but didn't report, would be covered by my warranty but they didn't think to call me and ask if I wanted the work done. Won't be going again. Not worth the 100mile round trip.

Lipscomb in Aylesford are good to deal with and take pride in resolving issues ,in my experience . I would recommend them having had less positive experiences with other Alfa dealers.

Sad, as my Alfa came from Whitequay, wouldn't t touch Johnsons in Solihull with a barge poll. Took car in with loss of power, and broken bonnet latch (handle in footwell).
Told me it was impossible to open then bonnet to investigate, cable jammed and would need a 4hr job to replace the cable, but would have to dismantle the bumper and bonnet to do it.
Also suggested I needed about new fan ( also non warranty item), but no suggestions on what could have caused power loss.
Did the bonnet repair myself in 10mins with a £10 part, not had any issues with that since (which I would have if their prognosis was right).

Lookers of Cardiff sorted out an engine management light for me this afternoon despite having been closed for half an hour when I got there. Not a bad first impression and I may put some paid work their way in the future.

I can only say good things about north gate Alfa in kent I bought a 120 tb off them had nothing but problems and then the gearbox pretty much gave up so they took it back and gave me a newer 10 plate 135 ma veloce. The other week I complained about some stone chips and they resprayed the front wings. They just cannot do enough. Saying that though it really does depend on the person and how strongly worded you are (stay in polite obviously) the level of care will always be different with different customers and it can even depend how well they slept last night and if they are in a good mood. I personally wouldn't go near Solihull Alfa due to past experience but other people have had good experiences with them. I must say though when north gate had sorted everything else out they chucked in 100.00 quid to pay for my tax as a gesture to say sorry. Cannot complain!

Johnsons of Solihull (ex -Guests Alfa). very nice service, and after care.

Just a shame they gave me a Panda to drive as a loan car. looked like a yob who stole a OAP's Panda :( worried about the police pulling me over to run past some checks. nice car but i had to realise I can't chase the BMW's in this.

I have been using Northgate Alfa in Canterbury (Kent) since I bought my 159 and they have been great. Much better than any other main dealer for any of the other brands that I have used in the past. They really seem to get what after-sales service should be. I remain impressed!

Yet another gold star for Bauer Millett who today carried out an intermediate service on my G. No fuss and great value and loads of big American muscle cars for my three year old to look at:lol:

Just goes to show how different people get on with different sales people ; I found Mark a bit of a bully . His description of the finance when I dealt with him was interesting . Never again.

Went back to Northgate today for a service & MOT after negotiating a good price. Completely different experience to my last trip there back in Jan/Feb, and all for the better. The customer service was absolutely first rate. Can't fault any aspect, except I've come away wanting to buy the demonstrator I had as a courtesy car. I'm close to falling for one of the oldest tricks in the book.

Another pat on the back for Bauer Millett who did the 21k mile service on my GQV slightly early along with a warranty repair for a known problem with the bootlid LED's. No hassle and the car was ready when they said it would be and cleaned (properly) inside and out for a very reasonable £310.00. :)

Main dealer lipscomb does well!

Agree we should praise main dealers when they get it right. Having dealt with a few over the years. Just picked up my Giulietta Cloverleaf from them. Good communication, spent alot of time with me..car mats and fuel included (had to fight before for these for 2nd hand cars) fair price for my 159LE and no pressure on how to pay. They even coped with me getting into a Lotus and trying to make out that was the same price! So Lipscomb well done..Will I get it serviced there..hmm maybe take a few specialist quotes..yet happy that someone is getting it right. Back in 2000 dealers were simply dire!
Bring on the A roads and the D selecter.
