Lottery win, how would you treat your GTA?

We've all done it, gone through the fantasy garage with unlimited funds.
But how would you treat your GTA (obviously you'd keep it!) if you won the money?

As a kick off, after I'd bought the 430 Scuderia 16M; the Audi RS6 Plus, and a few other things I'd send my 156GTA off to the garage with instructions for the following:

3.8 conversion
Supercharger
Supersprint exhaust
Re-spray
Interior refresh
Brera Teledials

Anything I've missed?

Great topic I was thinking about this yesterday as well lol. Good to see everyone will keep their GTA's bet their are few people who would keep their poor people transport (except those few you hear about who really have no clue how to deal with the money and say they are going to continue living with their mum in the three bed semi and will keep their Rover)

Aside from acquiring the usual round of supercars I would also go for a full fresh of the GTA. I would have the engine rebuilt as a 3.8 but no forced induction as I wouldn't want it so silly it is undriveable. Other than that i would go for a Full respray, light weight alloys, coilovers and a better exhaust

I'd have mine completely stripped and rebuilt replacing all those knackered bits, essentially as if it had just come off the production line.

Then I'd mount her on a plaque:lol:

Not sure about all this 3.8, supercharger conversion business. I'm a purist when it comes to my alfas, but having said that if one won the lottery the possibilities are endless, would defo keep her though.:)

A great thread

I would treat mine to a 'full' restoration. Complete shell respray....a glass out job. I'd have a new windscreen put in too. The interior really doesn't need any attention though. I'd get a new set of teledials from Alfa.....mine have been refurbed, but as such they are not 100% perfect. I'd strip the underside of the car and get everything repainted. Oh, and as odd as it may seem, I'd get my Q2 taken out and an original diff put in. The Q2 hum annoys me, and I still wouldn't use the car enough to get the performance/traction gain from the Q2 anyway:lol:

So ultimately, I'd be keeping the car as original factory spec, but returning her to 'nearly' as new condition.

I would probably buy 2 additional 156 GTAs to my 147. I would completely restore one of them bolt by bolt to a brand new car condition, register it with RIAR and keep it as a future classic. The second one would be treated with all the best upgrades I could think about and used on weekend together with my 147GTA :)

I would probably get an M3 V8 saloon as a daily driver....

Well, the lottery jackpot would need to be pretty huge....

I'd buy one for a start - getting the GTA itch again lately.. :hmm:

For me it'd be RWD, I know that would mean huge changes to the chassis but it'd have to be done, even if it meant space-framing the whole thing and having the panels made up in carbon fibre. I'd keep the interior and exterior visually the same but with fresh paint - you can't improve on perfection . Engine-wise it would be an Autolusso 3.8 but with a big plenum, a big throttlebody, steel crank and forged rods and appropriate cams to make it worthwhile revving round to 8k and making big power :D

I'd also work on lightening the car as much as possible, fit some big carbon ceramic brakes, some Brera S 19" wheels to fit over them and adjustable suspension to get the ride-height and handling/ride spot on. Of course a Wizard exhaust would be a must too :D

Hmmm i could only wish but here goes anyway

I would probably be happy if
- 3.8 conversion with properly sorted heads and decent cams running on ITB's, proper manifolds and no cats (exhaust variety) and switchable ecu for different driving modes (eco normal and mad)
- Pud/wizard exhaust :) cause i love the epic sound
- Dry sump and mount engine bit lower
- Quaife or Q2 diff
- Fully adjustable Antiroll bars
- Fully Adjustable polybushed wishbones
- KW clubsport or V3 coilovers or other 3way adjustable units
- Fully floating discs front and rear and beafy calipers
- Adjustable brake bias
- Very many lightweight panels
- Completely rebuild car nut bolt restoration but use titanium bolts throughout
- Strut braces
- Nice respray in decent Red paint
- Refurb Teledials and spray in smoked silver
- Alu undertray

and/or buy another GTA and completely rebuild as a full on racer with little or no compromise :)

Cant think of anything else at mo
Now back to reality DOH!

Complete re-spray, and suspension sorted. Might do other stuff I guess, but that's all I really want.

After establishing a fully equiped workshop with adjacent space to store a collection of wish list cars, they could be enything from a Mk 1 Lotus Cortina through to a collection of Lancia rally cars Stratos to S4.and of course a groupe 4 Escort, as for the 147 GTA i would carry out a full nut and bolt rebuild and keep it standard spec, but a second car would be purchased so that all the wish list modifications could be carried out so it could be used around my private test facility in the company with like minded enthusiasts. thats enough of that best get back to the daily grind!
