Am I being stupid or can anyone help?

Where is the ECU for the airbags? I was lead to believe it was under the passenger seat but when I had a look there was a connection there with nothing on the end of it (also the connection which goes to the seat belt pretensioner).

Should I be looking elsewhere or has someone nicked it?!

Felling slightly embarrassed...

It's under the rear seats, you have to undo two bolts below the front edge of the seats and it should just pull off forwards, revealing the airbag control unit.

ah thank you!!

so what's the spare connection / wire for under the passenger seat? should it be plugged in somewhere? I like things neat and tidy...

As well as the pretensioner cable which goes to the control unit, there may also be an unused cable coming from the seat - this is most likely for left hand drive/European cars - probably some kind of way of checking the driver's seatbelt is on, or something like that. I think this was mentioned in another thread recently.

I don't have rear seats in my 1999 Spider - does anyone know where the airbag ecu is on the Spider?
The manual has a drawing of it but no hint of where it is!
