Guys,

Any suggestions to check what might have gone wrong? I was driving to work this morning, in 4th gear, acelerated & the engine seemed to loose boost\power above say 4,500 rpm change to 5th, it pulls but no major boost any more. Now driving home the car does not feel very quick - like it's running very low or no boost at all!

During the weekend it was at the local specialist getting some bits & bobs done which included diags to check everything was fine. I then fitted a Squadra chip which worked fine for a few days but now this. I've got the feeling I've blown one of the intercooler end caps? but how do I check?

Cheers.

I know this is VERY obvious but has the turbo failed? Had this total loss of power on my nissan 200sx. Wasn't sure until I started to hear rattles from the bits'n'pieces floating about that it was confirmed!!! Probably not the answer though! eek!

Cheers wrinx.. er.. no, I don't _think_ the turbo has given up the ghost.. no smoke or bits & bobs flying about & it still sounds as though it's trying to boost (a bit) so I guess the turbo it's self is OK..

any more suggestions?

you must look at ALL the pipes for splits and make sure ALL the pipe clips are tight even they look tight double check them.also look through the grill at the intercooler to make sure no stones have gone through.next take off the pipe(on the end)of the turbo and stick your fingers in to see if it spins free,if you can look inside with a mirror to make sure the blades are still there.

You've probably poped a hose off one of the unions - saw this on a mates 200sx - popped off under boost, when looking at the hoses everything looked ok - close inspection showed one of the air hoses was off and sat back onto its union when the engine was off... only came unstuck on boost!!

hope this helps

cheers
