Circumstances at work means that I'll have no job very soon and therefore I must sell my beloved Alfa to fund my LGV licence :furious: I'm absolutely gutted because of this, sadly I'll have to downgrade to something cheap and economical for 6-12 months until I get myself sorted :depressed: I promise to myself I'll be back, hoping to treat myself with Brera by the end of next year :xmas:

I hope to give my Alfa to someone who appreciates them, so will try my luck in here. If anyone is interested, here's some info:

2006 Alfa Romeo 159 SPORTWAGON 2.4 JTDM Lusso with 119500 miles on a clock
MOT until 27/03/2016
Part service history
£1300 spent at 90000 miles (cambelt, waterpump etc.)
DPF delete + remap done at Angel Tuning
EGR blanking plate fitted
Windows tinted with Llumar tint by professional company (can be untinted if new owner requires)
Power steering reservoir and liquid issue sorted
Coolant rail plastic plug replaced with metal one

This year: new Selenia oil, new front bushes, new fog lamps, new front/rear badges, new battery, a month ago changed front tyres to Michelin M+S plus sorted the alignment so no uneven wear anymore, few weeks ago had a new thermostat and a few glow plugs replaced so starts perfectly first time without any issues now.

Mechanically faultless, can be checked at your expense, also new owner will get fixit San dongle (mini bluetooth version, modified, so can read everything now, not just an engine) also can share FiatECU Scan software if required.

Will add some normal photos probably tomorrow, for now - some night shots. God it will be sad to see her go...
Paintwork isn't perfect and there's a small dent in front wing, quoted £70 for repair with vacuum.

Interior is black leather, mint condition.

Would like to get £3300 or very nearest offer. New owner will be happy with this purchase.

As nice as it looks,
And as much as you have spent on it,
WBAC values it at a touch over £1500

Everything you have done is just to keep it on the road so doesn't actually add £ value.

(The remap, cam belt, water pump etc don't actually add value they just stop it dying on its arse and only being worth it's weight in weigh in, also timing belt done almost 30k miles ago means it's due in another 30k)

Sorry if that's harsh, but it's a reality.

I already have a 159 SW so am not in the market for one, but if I was I'd be looking straight to WBAC to value a 9 year old car.

I also have an LGV licence (the old class 2, not artic, anything upto and including 18 Ton) and can honestly say it's a brilliant thing to have on your licence, You'll struggle to be out of work with one of those. :)

Good luck,

Axe

I know some people here just bought their 159s for just under £2k, that will buy you a 1.9 saloon usually, I think 2.4 sportwagon will cost more. My car is second cheapest on autotrader (looking at 2.4 sportwagons) and one of the cheaper ones on eBay. Will try my luck, hoping to let it go for £3k.
And yeah, she does looks beautiful :)

Not me,

I paid far more than that to get a 2.0JTDm

I'm only quoting WBAC based on your reg plate, As crap as it is their low valuations do set the market price.

Good luck with getting £3k but don't price yourself out of the market, It might be worth that to you but you have got to be realistic.

(Like I said I have no interest in this as I already own one, so if you think I'm being a C**t then please yourself, I've been caught out too many times trying to sell thing for what I think they are worth rather than their actual value, Just trying to be a realist)

Cars on autotrader rarely sell for their listed price, people list stuff on eBay over and over again (unless you have watched listings for months you can't get a decent valuation from listings on there), from experience of watching sales online, you will get the best price on here (or any other specialist forum) as people know what the value of your extras are, So you 'might' get close to your target on here but you have to have a great advert in the right place (the classified listings) don't put it on eBay, just spend some time creating the best classified add you can then steer people to that from everywhere you can. The more times you mention your listing in random stuff online the more hits you get in the classifieds (so tell everyone you know on Facebook etc that your car is for sale and include a link to your advert)

Don't link to this thread as it will include the WBAC valuation I've mentioned and that won't help your price.

Just my 2c's

I'm not so sure he's that far out.
I have just paid a month ago £2600 for my 2.4 Lusso with 100k. Sounds cheap but so far I have:-
Refurbed wheels - (cheap) £200
New discs/pads all around fitted - (£250)
New Fog - £30
Oil, filter and air filter - £90
A/C Regas - £50

Needs
Glow Plug repair -(plugs and/or relay) - £130
Valet - £40
Power steering fluid change (3 litres) - £40

A few other cosmetic jobs - £50

As for We Buy it for ****all. that is a trade-in price. You can't quote that.

So that is around £840+ which puts it at £3440.

This SW sounds to me like it is already complete. I bought it eBay blind because I'm a bit stupid like that, he had a 'buy it now' price of £3600 which he says he'd have valeted, serviced and painted the rather nasty tatty oxidised alloys

As for We Buy Any Car for ****all, that is a trade-in price .It's worth more than that and you can't suggest it is sold for anything like that privately.

Whats the interior spec like? Are the seats manual or electric? Has the dash got key rash or dents & scratches. Post some pics :)

Seats are manual and regarding interior it's mint, not just the leather but all around - dash, roof etc.

It's worth more than that sold privately and even more trade. I wonder how though because in many cases I'd rather buy private as a trader will try his utmost in many cases to be as unhelpful as possible under the 'warranty' period.

Sold for £3k. New owner will be happy to have her and looks like he's going to take a good care of her. Never been so sad to sell my car :paperbag: If everything goes well, I might be an owner of a Mito 1.3 diesel some time soon, and for a time being - good luck to everyone, I found a lot of help in this forum while owning my 159 and taking care of her, and I would definately buy one again when fuel consumption in town traffics won't matter so much to me as it does now.

Farewell!
