Hi all,

Hope this is the right section to post this...

After flirting with the idea of Alfa ownership in the past I've decided I'm going to bite the bullet this time with a 145 Cloverleaf. I'm looking for a mechanically sound car, preferably with some recent refresh work.

Does anyone know of any good examples coming up for sale (I'm keeping an eye on Alfa145.co.uk and Pistonheads classifieds already)?

Also, I'm very keen to have a look at some other examples to get an idea what to expect when I see those for sale. Is there anyone in the Herts/North London type area who'd let me come and have a quick look at theirs?

Many thanks,

Chris

I've seen the ad for Langers' one and it's given me a bit of a dilemma. I had my heart set on a bright colour and a more 'OEM' sort of look, but it does sound like a very well cared for example.

I was looking for one about a year ago, but I didn't have much luck. Instead I bought a Ford Puma.

It was ok, but not really in the same league as a 145 QV

I would still have another 145, but not at the moment as we can't really justify two cars. :(

Having said that, if the right car came along at the right price....

still looking Chris? I've tracked your posts on the pistonheads forum, the ar 145 forum and here. I had no idea finding a good 145 would be so hard!!!

I had a nice drive in mine earlier - they are great little cars!

...and so the search continues. Close to giving up, but I can't find anything else fun for the money that combines the same practicality and appeal. The Pug 306 GTi-6 is the obvious solution, but it's a bit dull compared to the Alfa.

Thinking about taking a look at this one. It's still a good few hours away, but not quite the Western Isles!

Another choice would be a Renaultsport Clio.

The 172 versions can be had for £1500 upwards, and they offer a similar raw driving experience as well as a bit more speed and better handling.
