quite a peaceful life now  no rushing around
watched the motogp qualifying from donnington then gave the sud a much needed wash and polish, it was getting pretty dusty and even had a layer of tree sap on it :tut: don't know where i got that from, probably from thursday nights lincs meet

charged the battery up and tried the engine as the chraging system had failed on the way home thursday night, of course it now works fine  checked all the connections which seemed ok, belt was slightly loose but not enough to prevevnt charging. will get it checked out just the same though, don't want to get stranded on the way to mitcar in a few weeks time :tut:

nice and shiney Kev

You know why it fixed itself now , or do I have to tell you ?
Its because you washed it mate !!!

Kev, I really really need to tell you something .

Your car is bloody gorgeous ! The only thing "messing up" the sporty look and agressiveness of it, is its wheels

Put a nice pair of sporty alloys and they will transform this car from gorgeous to WOW !!!!

... just my opinion ....

you and big wheels  size isn't everything you know :cheese:

have been considering selling it to be honest, the fun was in building it, don't know what to do with it now  go for the odd drive but......... i don't know
toying with the idea of going circuit racing, the sud would have to make room finacially and time/space wise if i did.
did a couple of seasons of rallying in the early '90s and it feels like unfinished business as i stopped to get married etc :tut: driving out on the road just doesn't give the buzz, and track days seem a bit pointless to me
i will soon have to make my mind up, by the end of september i will have to get/make some sort of shelter/cover for the sud :(

Well thats a shocker, but I know what you mean I had that feeling of boredom when all was done but I got lucky and things broke  so could there be a 16v going in, I have heard you say that before, and some lower/stiffer springs. I see the odd race car on ebay so that could be a starting point, which ever way you go good luck m8.

yes, have thought about going the 16v route, but this car has a nice history now so don't want to spoil it.
have thought about buying a car ready to go racing, but it may be just boredom kicking in, getting me thinking of new things to do.
trying not to make any rash decisions yet

I didnt say anything about size ! You can easily go for 14 or 15" wheels :)

all this talk about selling it , I really dont take that seriously Kev, sorry

If you sell it , you'll regret it and you know it. If it doesnt "click" for you, make it click !!!

Its your car, and although stock is a great way to go, you should change a few things, even reversable, so YOUR car can say something about YOURSELF and make you happy and proud

Thats my filosophy anyway... My white 33 and 2 sprints say something about me !!! They say " GET OUT OF MY WAY !!! "

Just think it through before you make your mind up ! :)

yep, i know i would regret it which is stopping me from jumping straight in.
kept popping my head out of the back door and looking at it, does look great :D think i am just missing the "fun" of building it, it came as a sudden shock when it was done

no rash decisions anyway ;)

car

kev i will be going to mitcar when its on i can take you out for a spin im my car and i am also shocked because how much effort you have taken in getting the car done .
is it because its not quick enough as when i had my standard sud ti they seemed alot faster when i was younger but i think thats down to how far new cars have come on .
i think you may regret selling it but you would get a good price for the car and be able to buy a sud already done like this one.

seems i'm outvoted on the issue then  guess it would be a shame (if not a bit silly :tut:) to sell it so soon after completion.

been thinking about the winter storage situation, i either need to make a shelter (which i am struggling for space with) or get an all-weather cover like these
Confezioni Andrea srl - homepage
met the guys from italy who make these covers at a show earlier this year at the nec (or maybe last year ) and they seemed to be of good quality. seem to remember a tailored to fit cover complete with the optional alfa shield on the bonnet was around ÂŁ130 delivered? going to contact them to get a new price.
anyone else use a similar cover

You know it makes sence..the covers are good but keep the windows open about an inch and if you can get some dessicants put them around inside the car and a nice strong air freshener off the mirror, these should keep her fresh and damp free throughout winter.

what are dessicants  those little bags that you get in electrical equipment packaging
good idea about the windows, air circulation is an issue i know, as long as the covers are 100% waterproof
bit worried about making a nice cosy home for mice though :tut:
am aiming to take the cover off at least every month or so though to give the air a change etc, if we get any crisp dry winter days that is  , a couple of hours in the sunlight should help keep things fresh
