Hi all,

First lesson learned. Never let your best mate offer to rebuild your spare alfa because he wants to borrow it once its running ( just hadn't had time to look at it yet:lol: .)

Ok so explained to him he needs to mark everything with new timing marks and use the camshaft locking tool while he does the head gasket etc. So he decides he knows best. uses old marks and no tool. So when he comes to time it up it won't turn over by hand ( don't worry, it never actually got started up). So nothing damaged but i need to get everything back to TDC. As I've always used my own marks i've never paid attention to Alfa's so I have no Idea where it should all line up. Is there a mark on the flywheel etc. Any help or pics would fantastic. Its a 96 1747cc 16v ts widebody.

looks like a busy saturday coming up

For the TDC it is best to use a probe & a dial gauge through the main sparkplug hole in cyl 1
