I'm going to Le Mans again this year.

Last year I met up with Plastic Pig and his group who were only too happy to let me hoke around their fine collection for a while. They even offered me steak fresh from the BBQ!

Anybody planning on going again this year?
It will be my 6th concurrent year!

Going down for my third year.

Probably not going in an Alfa though, probably going in my brother's Honda CRV. I'll be wearing a disguise.

Will be there this year. It'll be my first one - am so looking forward to a great experience. It's effectively my stag weekend as am getting married in July - worried about what the boys may do to me but what the hey I get to reciprocate on them when they tie the knot! Will be there in the 166!

See you there, McGuinn. We'll be in the same campsite. :) Can't promise steak again, but it'll be good to see you.

Plastic Pig - your profile picture reminds me of a question I had. Are there any official Le Mans stickers available to buy to stick on a car? Seeing my friends Supra with a Nurburgring sticker on it made think that maybe this is so?

Yes. There's an official rear-window sticker (rectangular style) done every year. I'm a member of the ACO and usually get one in my membership pack. You might be able to buy some from the ACO shop (click here).

This will be my first year too. I can't wait :D Hoping that my recently purchased 1750 GTV will be ready in time.

It would be great to meet up with other Alfisti. We are going to be in Maison Blanche Zone B. Anyone else going to be close by?

We are in Basejour, which is near the Porsche curves. Nice and central.

Some things you must do;
- Have a bite to eat at a road side cafe in Arnage, and enjoy the car show as you eat. Usually hots up around midnight.
- Watch the race at night at the Arnage spectator area.
- Take a few pairs of earplugs.
- Go to the 'secret' cafe on the Mulsanne straight for a beer and a sandwich. You can sneak through the field next to it for a super spectating position about 2 metres from the track. The 'vettes make your insides shake as they pass at 200mph.
- Do some souvenir shopping in the Le Mans 'village'.
- Sit under the trees at Tetre Rouge and have a mid morning snooze.

I can't wait! We are going a day early this year so hope to catch the drivers parade in Le Mans city centre, as well as have a pit walk.

I'll be there for my fifth year in a row.
Going in my GTV this time - massive fuel bill but hey.
Be in Beausejour, not the best but it was a last minute thing.
Everyone got their silicone guns ready for beer mountaineering?

I am gutted - GTV not going to be out of the garage on time so having to take the Passat - not in the spirit of things.

However, we will be beer mountaineering over in Maison Blanche - look for "Camp U.N.I.T" flag and an blata blatino (Italian vehicle substitute for the weekend). Any Alfisti welcome to pop over for a beer.

I'm gutted too. I won't be able to take my 1750 GTV. The news was broken to me yesterday that the bottom end needs rebuilding

So we'll be coming down in a 146. At least its an Alfa. The forthcoming large and unexpected repair bill means that there will have to be a significant reduction in the beer and wine budget :(

Andy:
I might cross paths with you on the M27 as you get towards Portsmouth area ...as I leave it (from Fareham) ....heading for Newhaven to join up with Plastic Pig and others for the Dieppe crossing a little later than yours!

We are in Blue Nord, around 7-8 Alfa's in our group if my count is right.:D
