The little light that illuminates the mileage readout on my 2001 156 has gone pop. How easy or otherwise is it to change? Is it a dash out job or can I get access to it by undoing the screw inside the top of the speedo binnacle?

I would imagine you only need to undo the screw in the speedo housing to draw the dial forwards, gaining access to the unit behind... but this is not a job I have done, just a view based on what I imagine what would be the case.

remove the speedo & replace the bulb behind the LCD section.

1.2w capless is the bulb type, the old bulb can be removed from the holder

Just done it

1 screw to take plastic surround bit off, undo 2 screws holding clock in, remove clock, remove 2 plugs on the back of clock, take offending bulb out, replace bulb, put plugs back in, put clock back and put 2 screws back, put plastic surround in and the screw - 5 mins to do.

:)

cheers guys :)
