I've given a couple of Porsches a good run for their money on occasion, and beat most things of the lights.
The torque pulling away in 2nd is phenomenal (for a 1.4).

Well my friend, who has an S3, does want me to go to Santa Pod with him and hit up the drag strip! I only have a wee 95bhp, but will probably just give it a go anyway. Haha. Will let you know if I have any victories as soon as I've been. :)

Non ci credo, is the OP for real?? or maybe he's on a mega wind up?, hopefully the latter. Even the Quadrofoglio is only slightly warm (no offence meant as I have a less than warm 135) but lets jump into the real world for once, Alfa were given a GP platform and limited funds, and apart from the low rent interior (in my opinion as someone thats an engineer in interior trim) they've created something far more interesting, classy/cool looking and likeable than the class mainstream, be happy with it!, dragster it isnt!.

Out dragged a few Civic Type Rs and an Integra DC2 at the lights. but the traffic light grand prix is more about traction than anything else; a Focus RS with 300 horses that can't get any of them down ain't going to get you anywhere.

most agreed. i like a lot.

my tyres...not so much :(

lambrate - i think the OP just mean in general at traffic lights and things. i don't think he's wondering if there are any professional drag events he can enter.

good points about the car in general although disagree on the interior - think it is far superior to anything else i have sat in that is sub-£20k. they have followed the simple but golden design rule of putting the expense where it matters (touchable, functional parts) and skimping on less essential areas.

for example: leather wheel, gear stick etc, fairly solid dials and buttons. hefty doors that make a decent solid *clump* noise on shutting. carbon-fibre(ish) look dash is unique and feels more expensive than it is.

however they clearly cut back on the plastic quality elsewhere - top of doors, glove box area, weird bellows-like bit above steering wheel, cardboard boot mat, awful carpets to name a few

apologies OP, went off topic a bit
