I was watching an old Top gear the other evening on Dave where Jeremy was driving the Lamborghini Murcielago.
I just happened to look at the column stalks of the car and thought that they looked familiar.
A quick Google images search and they are indeed almost identical to the 916 stalks -

There is a slight difference in the horn contact.
So how come Lamborghini were parts binning stuff from Fiat and not Audi?
The 916 stalks were actually made by the German company SWF which I understand has subsequently been acquired by Valeo.
So, what about the clockspring? Yup, that's the same as the 916 as well.
So how far did they go? Same steering column splines? If so it may be possible to fit a Murcielago steering wheel for a bit of a Frankenstein monster
NOTE : The 916 stalk design is not unique to the 916. A slightly different version was used earlier on the 164.
