Hi.
Sorry if this has been covered before,

What I am trying to do is a proxy alignment to stop the odometer flashing because I changed the electric window switch that broke down.

I have been looking at this for weeks now, I am trying to get FES working on an Alfa 147 Jtdm 16v (2005) but so far I can't make it happen.

I have a Bluetooth ELM 327 interface but I couldn't make it work so I bought other one because I read that some are not compatible with all car but still not working, now I have 2. I ended up giving up with Bluetooth adaptors and bought a KKL VAG usb.

I have installed the drivers and set up the COM port. Up to this point I think everything is good. When I go into FES and try to connect, keep saying:
CONNECTION FAILED you need ELM 327/ODBKey interface to connect to this module! Check your cable and serial port settings!
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. :irked:

I also read that connecting some of the pins together on the KKL connector can be modified to do other things like air bags but I didn't want to experiment with this and fry the ECU

A little help would be much appreciated :byebye:

Surely all the clues are staring out at you....?

You need an ELM327 interface to do any CANbus stuff.

Your KKL interface will not work.

Thanks David,
Would any ELM327 work to do a proxy alignment?
I think so. USB connection usually more reliable than Bluetooth as you've discovered!
The MultiECUScan website will tell you if an adapter is required and also covers a mod that some need.

use one of these for your multiecu software instead of the one you have

get a Elm lead at the same time

Hi Mirlock, thanks for the answer. If I get the ELM usb Lead will i need the KKL at all?
This is the same cable that I already have but with the switch to connect different pins. If I only knew what pins this switch link together.

You'll still a KKL cable for the airbags. Modified or with an adapter.
You've already got a KKL, so you shouldn't need to buy another.
