They don't mix well together!

There are parks plenty around here and even biggish gardens, but the little blighters are sent on the street to play

Sun has been out for just over a week, right? Well within this time I have gone over two footballs, whilst managing to avoid the front wheels but the back wheel hitting them on both occasions! I have had a small girl 3/4yr old? cute (but most likely from ChavsStupid family for letting her out on the road) come across my car as her football rolled on to the road  This on my street and yet if I didn't know the blighters play on the blind corner of our road I might not be so careful!

Yesterday, while walking to the local shop, saw this man in the opposite direction stop in his tracks and started pointing across the road  This little 1.5yr-ish girl just learnt to walk (no expert but she seemed it) started to wonder onto the road from outside there house  Who rescues her?... her 4/5yr old brother instructed by the mother as the kid was just about to walk in-between parked cars on a main road .... Arrrrhghhhhh!

I blame the parents but can't stop being angry at kids kicking footballs across roads, street to street  If I parked on these street, I'd probably get dings, scratches and all sorts of crap on the car

Don't get me started on kids on bikes that play chicken with cars either

Do I feel better for this rant? No!!... something needs to be done as some poor kid is going to die around here soon and some poor sod driving with due care and attention is going to have to live with the guilt for the rest of their lives :(

Or some ChavUpped Nova wanna be driving a Ferrari type, thinking it's track day on normal residential streets, is going to do the deed

It's only a matter of time! :tut:

I came to a complete stop yesterday
to let some dullard mother retrieve
her son's ball from the middle of
a main road.

She looked at me like i'd crapped
on her mother's grave.

Next time I wont bother to stop.

Yep heaven forbid you do have an accident with a child - even if you are taking due care and attention you will be slaughtered.

I make sure my little girl is always where I can see her and even then we have big gates shut and locked to keep her away from the road but some parents don't have much responsibilty at all.

I have lost count of the times I see 'older' children taking care of little tots. It is crazy :(

Yeah, there arnt alot of places for kids to play locally in the city's, which I think is part of the reason they're on the streets. But parents have to take part of the blame too, it's no excuse saying "theres nowhere else so I let them play on the road"

Pedestrian friendly front ends encourage this sort of behavior from the children. Bring back bulls bars - jagged edged and all ;)

People born after 1975 can look away now:
Used to love playing footy in the road, got lots of assists from the neighbours Escort 1100. Kicking up hill was always best because if you balooned it, it would probably stay 'under the bar' If you kicked down hill it usually went too high ! Favourite ball White plastic 'Wembley'. Favourite trainers GOLA Favourite kit England "Admiral". Don't have a go at the kids the traffic is there to improve ball control and help with natural selection....kids gotta learn

I wouldnt blame the kids!

I was lucky, didnt live in the city, so there were loads of places to go away from the traffic.

But I used to get my ssa kicked if I went near the roads!!
You see ,my very point. I'm from Liverpool QED :D .. Last time Hearts won anything ? or Scotland for that matter? I mean knockout stages would be a start. So come on, it's a matter of national pride:lol: Street footy, the cradle of champions...:p
