How many of us would give up on our cars if it wasn't for this wonderful forum and all who participate.

I confess that if it wasn't for this forum I probably wouldn't be able to afford to run my Bella. I've lost count of the amount of times that I've had issues that would have left many a mechanic scratching their heads.

Mostly minor but nagging issues that I have been able to fix myself thanks to ecellent advice from the members of this forum. I try to return the favour whenever possible.

True its great to have a wealth of advice at hand. And to know we all go through the same problems sooner or later. Sometimes to be honest it can make you paranoid! But for the most part its preventative medicine.
Owning an alfa is a magical experience, and the alfa wave is a nice thing to do. In this time of aerodynamic similar looking blobs we call cars, its a privilege to own an artistic masterpiece, and communicate with like minded people.

Through the forum since i have owned my Gt, i have found an excellent alfa specialist who takes care of my Gt in autolusso. Which to be honest is another huge factor to having a painless experience in alfa ownership. So i owe a lot to the forum to be honest. I honestly don't think it would be a decider whether i would own my Gt or not though!!
Damien.

I probably would not have even bought an Alfa if it had not been for this forum. It gave me confidence to look for specific things that could be wrong with the car after every person I have ever met said, "Don't buy an Alfa Romeo!"

:) Isn't it good to hear that this place has been so useful for us all?! Mind you, it is all the members that have made this place anyway, it's really good that we can all learn from each others experiences/knowledge.

I would have saved loads of dosh when i was forking about with my first 156 if i had known about the forum back then.
The daft thing is, is that I did actually know about it back then but just forgot I'd stumbled across it and signed up under a slightly different username

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/introduce-yourself/36387-morning.html took me 2 and a half years to find it again

I can't imagine life without the Forum! Mind you, talking of paranoia, I feel nervous every time I press the throttle - no Q2 fitted!!

I've learned so much about engines and suspension and all kinds of other things car-related from the forum.

If it wasn't for this i'd have too many niggly things on the GT that would do my head in. Gives me something to do at the weekend as well -about the only benefit of it being out of warranty!

The how-to guides are ace. But i still can't get my head round brakes lol. I'd love to do a bit of a meet up whereby someone brings their car along, does a bit of maintenance and everyone else learns from it.

I can do oil, filter, egr stuff ....but scared when it comes to brakes! Also lubed up that clutch actuator arm too which was a good learn. The regional guys should get something like that up and running, I think it would be popular.

this is the best forum I've ever found! for anything! everyone is out to help each other while sharing our experiences and there are a few real veteran experts who we can have absolute faith in

My next car will likely be an alfa! I've been considering a 159 for a couple of years as my next car, when money allows I could well do it, if not a GT :D

It's saved me ££££'s, given me confidence to tackle issues and I hope simple advice that I have added to has done the same for another member/ owner at some point... That's what it's all about

Joined after about a day of buying my first alfa. Love the advice I get on here. I've never done any car maintenance beyond changing light bulbs before but thought if I was ever gonna start to learn it would be on an Alfa. Unfortunately my first Alfa passed over to the scrapyard in the sky a few weeks ago.
My wife was not surprised when I replaced her with another Alfa...
Just changed the Thermostat on my new baby, never thought I'd be able to say that!!

Thanks AO:thumbs:

LMAO - I wish i could replace my wife with another Alfa - the wife does my nut in!!!:cheese:
 I re-read my post, oops.
If I did replace my wife with an Alfa she'd probably take it in the divorce just to p*ss me off!!
In all fairness tho she's quite tolerable with my amateur tinkering but still insists I'm a sad geek and she despairs when I wave at other Alfa's!
