So this is not really a massive rant or me whinging about the state of my life etc...I just wanted to let off a little steam about a recent purchase of mine!

On boxing day I decided, with a little christmas money, to order a new PC. Speaking with Bazza, and based partly on his recomendation, I ordered a PC from a company called Cyberpower. This is no rant against them! Throughout the process they have been very helpful and quick to answer any of my questions.

Anyway, the PC was scheduled to be delivered last friday, 8th Jan, but given the weather I was not expecting it to actually make it. Friday lunch time Cyberpower ring me to say the couriers van, in which was my PC, had crashed!

Naturally hoping everyone was ok, I thought what the hey a persons life is more important than my pc!

Spoke to Cyberpower again the beginning of this week and we chatted about a hopeful redelivery date being this week. Rang them again today and spoke to Alan (very helpful), who had managed to get some more info from the couriers.Turns out, that, after the crashed van was recovered, they decided to deliver my PC to the wrong address!! So one guy, has now got two brand new PC's! This guy will not allow Cyberpower to arrange to collect the PC until the weekend. So to sort things out as fast as possible Cyberpower are building me a new PC from scratch and will send it out asap!

In the grand scheme of things a PC is not the be all and end all, but given my usual track record of buying electricals or anything expensive im not surprised this has not run smoothly!

So not a rant about anything life or death, but I thought I would share the story to illustrate not all companies out there are robbing gits! So a big shout out to Cyberpower for keeping me informed and trying to sort things out asap!

I blame Bradders Bazza :p
You might be on to something here. The last time I recommended a PC to a friend, it was from Mesh, and they sent them a faulty PC and then (basically, it's a long story) refused to fix or replace it for about a year.

I clearly can't be trusted.

Don't start recommending cars! :tut:
Ah.....too late for me!

My life prior to meeting Mr Bear, Alfa's not on the radar.
My life after meeting Mr Bear, well.....too late now I guess! :p

Though I am happy to report my Alfa is doing brilliantly!

As Odyssey said, its refreshing to find a company who values customer service!

Hopefully soon I will be surfing AO at turbo charged speeds!

look on the bright side, id much rather have the new pc that wasn't in the back of a van when it crashed, who knows it could be damaged in some way anyway

It does give confidence in the suppliers though - they doing all they can to sort it out for you.
Things go wrong occasionally, it's a fact of life. The proof of the seller (and the buyer for that matter) is their actions in that eventuality.
A bad seller would have failed to keep you informed, or not tried to rush things through. A bad buyer would have railed at the seller for things beyond their control.

I think you've both come out of this looking good. :)

Very good points James, in the grand scheme of things I see no point in getting worked up! Firstly, I cant be bothered! Secondly, its not like I can make the PC arrive any quicker! Short of driving up to Newcastle and building it myself! Which of course I couldt do as im a dunce!

Unless the PC breaks down as soon as its turned on! Then I feel a rant coming.
Haha, hopefully when it arrives everything will work! Fingers crossed!

wish more businesses would adopt at least a level of customer service, just a little close to this, alas most dont, and adopt a "we have your money, now get knotted" aproach:rant:

I've been getting a bit upset with couriers too.....had ordered a collection of a sump I was selling for last Tuesday...it finally got collected yesterday.......a day or two delay I could understand with the weather problems, but this was just ridiculous - especially as I kept getting told the collection was scheduled each day, so had to stay in to await collection.......

Fortunately my customer was very understanding.......
