John, it was done by a gearbox specialist in your area which is why I'm asking.
Regardless of which it was done over 60,000 miles ago (car has done 113,000) so any degree of blame SHOULD it turn out to be a gearbox fault and not some other issue of which the car has plenty still to be resolved, is thereby negated.
I'd appreciate your input but only on the basis you're not going to continue on your blatant witch hunt... (We all know why you asked who dunnit...)
Fundamentally, I can take the gearbox out and I can strip it down at negligible cost. What i'm interested in is fixing it, not apportioning blame to someone who may or may not be liable for something they or may not have done 5 years ago...
