As I recall on my 2000 year 156 I had to lower the bumper to get the headlights out, do I have to do the same with the facelift. I have had a poke and prod and it seems as if there is one bolt and a couple of push in thingys. Any advice will be appreciated.

Probably will be the same as the pre-facelift, ie bumper off to get the lower mounting lug out.
On a pre-facelift, you can get to the lower mounting nut via the fog light cover, but you still need the bumper lowered to get it out.
I don't know if you can get to the lower nut like that on a facelift.

I admit I've not done it myself on a facelift, but I expect it will be the same!

Can you get to the lower mounting nut on the facelift?

To be honest I have not looked that closely, I took the top nut off and pulled the inner socket but the light was still located somewere by the indicator. When I have a spare hour or two I will give it a go dose of looking at.
