Jtd motor control system failure

Hi all I'm out of ideas with my 2.4jtd 156
I have had motor control system failure on
For a few days and diagnostic says 2 faults
Egr valve and boost pressure.
I have taking egr valve off and noticed the
Previous owner blanked it off?
So I unblanked it and clean both part of the
Egr valve even tho it seemed pretty clean
Still light is on :( sometimes light comes off
When revs are high but not very often,
The car is in a limp mode with no turbo
While light is on does any1 have any idea?
Thank you for reading.

Try cleaning map sensor if you have not already tried ....had a similar fault with my GT
Ok thanks alot I will give that a go tomorrow at work
Is it a simple job? I'm not very good under engines
And the egr valve was hard enough
its not good enough for the egr to be clean the solenoid as to be working to open and close the valve inside..........i suspect it isnt thats why its blanked off.
the map sensor it to the left of egr held in with one torx bolt, it pulls out and will be covered in soot........clean it with carb spray

car should come out of lilmp mode if u stop it and start it again, mcsf will go out after a few starts if the problem it detected does not come back

can also be sticking vanes or leaking vacum or split boost pipes
Thank you both for your help :) I have changed the egr
Solinoid with A new 1 but its from a jtdm 20v any ideas if it would
Matter? But it hasn't worked also I I'm still looking for the map sensor
But I haven't found it and run out of time... Do I need to
Remove anything first?

Only thing you have to remove is the Torx nut holding it in place. Once you've done that, pull it out and liberally spray it with carb cleaner until all the soot has gone and then refit it. Takes a couple of minutes and is a common fault on turbo diesels.

Map is easiest job you can do....

Ego is the same on 20v so that's fine...

Next look down behind rad and follow vac hose from unit on back of rad you should see where it attaches to turbo and has a rod from where vac hose goes, od goes towards engine and connects to variable geometry for turbo vanes.

Get someone to start car you should see rod move 3cm ish.... then stop car it should come back out. If it doesn't report back and check the vac hoses for splits :)
Ok I have taken map sensor off it looks brand new.
The rod moves in and out when key is turned and all the tubing is in good
Condition without splits.....a freind has told me it could be my boost control?
Any1 have any other ideas.. Thanks :)
