hi all,

been having an issue that is slowly getting worse, on part throttle I get boost building then after a few seconds, the boost fades and power drops, then builds back up again and a puff of diesel smoke appears (when the boost magically arrives again)

On full throttle doesn't seem to be as bad at all, maybe a tiny bit less power ?boost related?

• Have replaced EGR, and MAF, the Boost solenoid measures 16.5 Ohms - way out of the specified 28.5 Ohms +- 1.5 range. Had been mounted very low and had boost problems in flooded lanes / big puddles.
  
• MAP sensor was replaced with OE spec HAAS part (eurocarparts) but the sensor had a fault from new, so unsure if the MAP is to blame (p0235 error) - being returned this week at ECP , ideally refund or exchange
  
• Have ordered a new Boost solenoid which is close to spec, and hopefully will be alot better.

Has anyone else has similar problems / Boost Solenoid / MAP related with similar symptoms?

Have replaced map with Bosch part. New boost solenoid. Problem of random boost fade/drop persists..
Maybe slightly worse ..maybe not directly linked to boost solenoid or map.

Pipes seem to hold vac with no obvious leaks..

Really stumped..

Blank the egr even if you think it is working fine and intend to keep it. Measure the performance again. This can narrow your diagnosis down with very little time or money invested.
Also, only replace MAF with original Bosch equipment.
