Hi All,

The driver's door catch release on my '95 model 155 (2.0 l) has seized.
Central locking operates normally from the inside door release and key operates
correctly in lock. I have released the door panel as far as it will go, and can
see that the cable from the inside door release is still operated.

My problem is how to get the door off. The best suggestion a local Alfa dealer's
mechanic has is to cut away part of the inside door panel. ANY BETTER SUGGESTIONS ?

Please reply by Saturday, as at 0800 the car goes under the knife.

Thanks in anticipation,

I did a posting on a step by step guide to on how to remove the interior a while back, having done a full change myself. I can't find it on the search though. Has anyone got a copy of it they can email / post on here?

Thanks for the reply da Londo.

The issue is that the door is closed. The door panel cannot be removed because

1) The front part of the panel is trapped by part of the dashboard.

2) The rear screw holding the armrest in place is blocked by the seat (to get the drivers seat out would probably require taking out the front passenger seat too).
