It has been suggested to me that the 5 cylinder is a bit lumpy at idle due to age and firing order
Many years ago I had a 2144cc 5cylinder (petrol) 1985 Audi with same firing order, smooth as a baby's bum from what I remember!:lol: Fabulous noise, too.

Have been trying to see if you can get the ecu flashed to raise the idle speed, hopefully to minimise vibes

You know it there for sure and compared to the 2.5 5 cylinder that's in my T4 Camper is like chalk and cheese as the VW is very smooth. Both a great noise though! :thumbs:
