Hello,
Sorry if this question sounds stupid.....
I have an AUSTRALIAN MARKET - Alfa 156 Selespeed Monza. Year 2000. Somebody told me all right hand drive Alfa's are made in South Africa.....

Is my car South African? ..... or is it made in Milan Italy.....

Please answer.....

They were once definatly but i think they stoped in late 80's. BMW's and Vw-audis (that wern't made in the check republic TT!)
still are i've seen the factory.

I think they are assembled in Arese again for the european market certainly bit with the RH bits still made in SA.

The 156 was only built in Italy and either Singapore or Malaysia (cant remember which)

The Asian version was only the 2.0 Selespeed for pacific regions and were built from CKD kits sent from Italy.

All European cars would originate from Arese or Pomigliano d'Arco.

ALL 156/147/GT/ etc are/were made in Italy with the exception of the 156 assembled in Thailand from kits that were made in Italy.

mmm, not sure.
My Fiat Cinquecento (made in Poland in 1994) is: ZFA

I had taken "AR" to be for Alfa Romeo and "FA" to be for Fiat.

That link may be a bit too universal, because despite having "Made in Poland" stamped all over it, it says my Cinq was made in Italy...
