I recently realised that you can update Blue & Me and with me having a 2011 Giulietta I thought there would be a newer version available. After hunting around I found the following site...

Blue & Me Update | Official UK Store (alfaaccessories.com)

But upon clicking the link to the actual update page you're met with a blank screen with an Adobe logo in the top corner.

www.blueandme.net/blueandme/index.aspx/index.aspx?brand=fga&lang=en#/support/download/

Does this mean updates are now unavailable unless you already have the download?

Also, what is the newest version you can install on a 2011 Giulietta?

Thanks

Hi.
On a Mac with Google Chrome browser, you can still click on the triangle next to the address bar and allow Flash manually. Might be the same with other browsers and operating systems.

Sorry it's in french ;)

Hi All,

Done a few updates on cars now across Alfa and Fiat in the past few months. The MXnitro works fine (thanks John31) and very quick and I use an old HewPack Win7 Windows PC that I had removed Flash Player without thinking I would lose access to the Blueandme site. I also found and old Dell mini netbook still with XP and Flashplayer loaded and that works fine too but as 32bit will not accept Nitro anyway. I don't use either computers though now for general use or banking etc and have removed all personal data from them. Anyone needing files I can always help out now and send out on a memory stick for postage costs, just takes a few days to turn around.

Think the last version was v10
Yes latest is V10 2nd Gen................nothing else then after about 2015/16 when the BluEMe was ceased and moved to UCONNECT so no website updates.

Again if you have IMAGE ID coming up in menu then you probably have the latest. If you try to update anyway and already have latest software it will just message update failed so not a problem to download stage 1 from BlueMe site onto a FAT32 formatted USB stick. Put in cars USB switch ignition ON and see. If not latest software you will get a message updating then updating complete.

If it has taken you through to update complete this is just reading the cars level of software. You can then look at what it shows in the BMConf. file and proceed to do an update.

I get 'files not supported' error. I downloaded first config files into the main folder of the USB, not sub folder. Put in usb port with ignition off. Turn key to mar and get files not supported. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, The files on the USB must not be in any folder. They have to be copied as an individual group direct onto the USB memory stick clean formatted to FAT32.

When on the memory stick you should see nothing more than what I have put up in the picture. The bottom 4 files are the key files.....the ones above are just all the PDF instruction files. I generaly just remove all but the EN PDF file but at this stage no alteration to any files should be done. The only caveat I have not yet come across is on the stage 2 to update to 2nd gen V10 if the car is at version 5.5 does it need to be updated to 5.6 first. Every car Fiat or Alfa I have done so far has just gone straight in to update to V10

My USB contents look like yours. I think I'll reformat the USB and try again.
OK worth a try but it MUST be formatted to FAT32 not FAT or NTFS. Also I have had the odd USB stick despite formatted to FAT32 again for some reason not being recognised. I keep two small 2GB USB memory sticks now and that is all I use. I have sent these out too with the necessary files loaded on and had no problem.

Also I have had failures with SD cards in adaptors.

What are you selecting on the blueandme site when entering the cars data choices.

I might have downloaded the wrong software. Not sure if my blue and me is 1st or 2nd gen. Also don't know the blue and me model. I've got a 64 plate car... What should I download? I guess mine is 2nd gen non Tomtom as I don't have sat nav...

64 plate should really already be I would have thought 2nd generation V10, but you need to check in your cluster settings if you scroll through and see if you can find IMAGE ID. I have been caught out though a few times on later model cars where previous owners have had faulty BlueMe modules and found used secondhand ones from earlier cars with earlier software installed on the BM module.

Can you just confirm all your steering wheel buttons are functioning and you have voice command all working from steering wheel controls. It does not matter whether you have a sat nav fitted or not the facility is still programmed into the software so select 2nd gen TomTom2 from the menus

As I have always been installing TomTom2 BlueMe's I have simply selected the full latest usually bottom selection from the drop down menus and never had a problem. I really don't think stage 1 matters anyway though as all this is doing is reading what is installed on your car. Even when I have selected from the drop down menu at stage 1 download I always do for a tomtom2 2nd generation and the BMConf file comes back with the wrong identity of sat nav code so this is why it has to be manually changed before uploading back to the website.

Personally I would check out/change your memory stick and format again (I always do the long boring full format and not the quicky) and worse case I can either transfer files over to you or have to post off on one of my memory sticks. That said if you have already the latest software and selected earlier versions from the drop down menus you will get nowhere as updates previously done are then none reversible.

First though look and see if you can find IMAGE ID coming up on the speedo cluster in the settings menu.

Finally got around to updating mine using MXNitro suggested by @Johnr31 It took a few tries for the final stage as it said it was updating when I put the USB back in but then nothing for a while. I turned the ignition off and on again and then it decided to flash up installation complete rather than update complete after several minutes. Either way it seemed to work. No noticeable differences so far though.
