just wondering whats the easiest way for an ipod connection in my alfa 156 gta, i have a bury hands free in both which i like but doesnt have any integration with the ipod, there were alternatives but the sound quality was poor as it wasnt integrated. i want to keep the original stereo. silly question but its really so i can play music off my iphone4 which has got all my songs on it, will an ipod connection work with my iphone. my mate has a crappy system which works through the radio frequency but dont want that. im sure plenty of people will know. thanks

I went with the Denison Gateway lite. It replaces the multi changer in the boot so gives a bit more space, if you cut it out and plugs into the same port as the multi changer did. The Iphone charges and plays and it also keeps the steering wheel controls as well, there is an added facility for plugging in a memory stick or HDD for music. I think there are probably better products out there now but this keeps the original stereo.

Parrot 9200 - superb system. About £200 or £250 fitted. Works well with blue tooth, IPOD, Iphone, handsfree etc etc.

i thought parrot didnt integrate with the bose sound system. i think the company was pushing bury because of there aftersales. and they said the sound quality isnt the best. i need just a connection like carty mentioned but would like to keep the cd changer and my existing bluetooth.

After fitting loads of them I would strongly recommend parrot 9200. Nothing else that i have fitted sounds better. Full iphone integration. An yes it will work with bose. If I remember correctly it only needs one wire connecting. I sure there is a guide in the ice section. I have never really loved the dension kits. every bury I have ever fitted has always been removed at a later date because the screens go faulty. Parrot have a very good reputation.

I looked at many different options, and the 9200 Parrot did everything really well, and seemed the best system for me. I enquired at 4 different car hi-fi shops, and the Parrot was the one that they all recommended for my car. The hands free telephone interface and sound quality is really good, with automatic connection via bluetooth, which was important for me, as I spend a lot of time in the car. The IPOD/Mp3 connection works very well and you have full control over the IPOD from a little joystick and colour screen. The whole system just works really well. And I have BOSE and CD changer all present and working still and it fitted easily. And can all be removed very easily if required as well, leaving no holes or anything.

It worked so well, I fitted one in the wifes car as well.

So I fitted the wrong Handsfree, that's an expensive mistake, but will just have to find something cheaper to do the job for now. Changing the head unit maybe an option. The bury is ok and red and black illumination fits matches the rest of the lights.

I've got the Dension fitted in mine, simple connection lead just behind the ashtray so it's easy to connect the iPod and select music. I've got a separate bluetooth handsfree. However, this was all fitted nearly 3 years ago. Recently had the Parrot fitted to the wife's car and it is superb. Bluetooth handsfree and audio connection. Only downside is the colourful screen that I wouldn't want on the dashboard in the GTA.
