That's not an intercooler on the offside, it's the oil cooler.
Unfortunately leaky oil coolers are a common occurrence, as the unions corrode to the point where they lose their integrity...
Once they start leaking they won't stop, and will eventually fail catastrophically and dump out all of the oil whilst you're driving - this can wreck the engine, since you typically run it dry for a short period.
Best option is to get a new oil cooler fitted ASAP. Autolusso sell a very good kit, with upgraded unions (I think stainless steel) that won't corrode like the originals. It's also a lot cheaper than OEM parts -
