Hi guys

I see alot of people on here being able to get really good quotes on their cars. Currently paying R1200 on a GT and I would really like to get it down to below R900 at least. Any suggestions will be apreciated. So far I have tried all the big insurance companies.

Regards

Thanks guys I have tried PSG, got quoted R1500-00 ! Seriously I'm 34 married, and never had a claim what gives
If you're just trying to insure one car the rate will be high. What I did was to move my car from outsurance (R1750pm) and my wifes car from outsurance(R1050pm) to PSG, and on my brokers advice I took household insurance (previously I had none) to the value of R350000. This allowed them to split the risk, and adding the household decreased my car quotes significantly.
My new premiums are:
Household R250
My car R610
Wifes Car R640

So I was paying R2800 with outsurance with no household cover, and I now pay R1500 for both cars with household. If I remove the household cover though my premiums on the cars skyrocket.

Hope that helps

I believe you can get good insurance through the Alfa Clubs (members only).
I remember years ago my dad used to arrange it for the Pretoria Club.
You need to print pictures of the vehicle from all 4 sides (not sure about engine bay and interior) and get a specific club member to evaluate your pride and you.
This needs to be repeated every 18 months.

I'm planning on going to the ARCSA noggin this month to get my membership again and get this sorted.

Yeah, best do combo if you can...
I pay less than R900 for 2 cars, household, and that's with zero excess.

Previously paid more than R1200 without household and R3500 excess on each car. :wow:

I'm currently with PSG (centurion) and pay R1450 for 3 cars (156 2.0, 156 SW & Gtv) including house hold of R250 000.
I'm just struggling to get a value for the 164 and that's why I'm considering getting insurance though the club.
I know Jacques said he got quite a decent deal working through the Pretoria club.
