spent thursday afternoon ringing round insurance companies for my 156 v6. after getting sorted with admiral i didn't think anymore of it.

just got my morning post and there was a letter from adrian flux. inside was the quote i got sometime thursday, i remember the guy i spoke to saying they couldn't beat admirals £739.something so i opened it expecting something close to the 1k he'd mentioned, nope £2681.63. £1900 pound difference, not sure how companies come up with prices.

I used to be with Adrian Flux with my old car. When I got my 147 Q2 I asked for a quote and it was over £600. Ended up going elsewhere and got it for £300! They did not want my business any more I assume, I went from a modified car with 200BHP (petrol) to a 150BHP diesel standard car and they wanted more to insure the new car, didn't add up.

I am with AF at the moment, when there staff are taking details down they fail to listen to the person they are talking too. When I took my policy out with them they asked me how many miles do you do in a year, I replied between 3000k and 5000k a year.

As the price was not to bad I purchased the insurance. When I got my policy documents, they had put me down for 3000k a year, when I pointed out to them I did between 3k and 5k they told me that they would have to increase my policy and add charges :wow:(famous admin charges) which then made to quote I got off them in the first place rubish.

Making corrections just as you get your policy documents should be met with no charges, and I have to say that I will not even get a quote from these people come my renewal time.

So I warn everyone who is considering taking out a policy with ADRIAN FLUX to get them to send it in writing to you before you take out a policy with them. Adrian Flux if you read this try and behave in a more responsable manner in future and remmember that bad news spreads fast.

Insurance companies

Hi guys, I'm looking to get a spider when the weather perks up again and was just wondering if anyone knows of any good specialist insurance companies?

Ive had a little trouble in the past and looking to get some friendly advice.

Thanks

:)

I haven't but I would ask who they are underwritten by, if a big name I wouldnt be too concerned.

i never even heard back from this company Adrian Flux so leaves me with no confidence or interest in them, im sticking with Sky Insurance, much nicer company and good competitive prices.

Adrian Flux

My 2.0 Alfetta saloon is with Adrian Flux. I've always found them to be competitive, and last renewal premium was £98.70 for the year.

Greenlight just insured my 159 2.4 ti DPF/EGR mods plus 252bhp remap at £368-50p which is £20 less than it was insured previously without the mod's !!! and £46-50 less than A Flux which was also a pretty good quote to be honest.
