Wifey's punto is messing about - I have rigged a standard multimeter into the ciggie socket for V reading, but would like a cheap fitted volt & amp display.

No OBD plugs, so scangauge won't be any help :D

Any ideas?

Problem symptoms are - occasional flat battery, despite battery being almost new, checked all lights & can't find any real current leak when tested.
Volts when running =14, 13.9 with lights on, 12.4ish when left overnight.
Flat battery (seems) happens without any prior indication.

Pretend it's a 166 & 164 related question, because if the car keeps doing this, it will be p/x for a family car, which will mean me having to think seriously if we can have 2 big cars :(

Try measuring Amps drawn from battery, when everything is turned down and doors closed (should read in milliamps).

Sometimes aftermarket alarms and some radios play up or there is some light always on (glove box or something similar).
