Hi all, hope you can help.

I've had a 1999 3.0 V6 GTV since July and a couple of weeks ago whilst driving, I hit the red line in 2nd gear. Straight away the injector warning light on the dash came on. It has stayed on since, even though the car is driving perfectly.

I took it to a local garage who reset the light and advised that the warning code is for the air flow meter (although he couldn't remember the code). Within a few seconds of starting it up again, the light came back on. A new AFM is £122 which I'm loathed to spend just to take a light off.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what else I could try, or point me in the direction of a cheaper AFM?

Thanks in advance.

Do a search for Vauxhall MAF. About £65.
Red injector light may not be maf. Faulty maf usually causes rough running and/or flat spot.

Thanks for that advice. The garage advised it was the MAF, so I'll buy one, get them to fit it, and then charge them for it if it doesn't cure the problem.
