Please could somebody give me some advice on my variator.I have a 147 1.6 ts and had the cambelt changed nearly a year ago but not the variator.In the last month or so i have been getting the common signs that the variator is kaput,diesel sounding engine and ticking sound on startup.My question is do i need to get the variator changed ASAP or will it be okay until my next cambelt change in 2 years baring in mind funds are a bit tight at the moment?

I have read that if you can put up with the noise (which will prob get worse) it will be OK - but someone more knowledgable will be along shortly no doubt :)
