Just checked the oil level in my '10 plate 159 2.0jtd (170) and noticed the oil level has actually increased from being midway to above max. The car has only just completed 6,000 miles and has never been topped up. I have read or heard that this may be due to diesel finding it's way in somehow. Has anyone else experienced this?

Very common if it has had a lot of uncompleted DPF regens, which will happen to a modern Diesel if it spends a lot of time doing short drives.

Has this likely to have caused damage? Just wondering what my next move should be.
If the oil level gets too high the engine could lunch itself by ingesting the contents of the sump and running itself to death on that.

there are posters on this forum who have experienced this, although it's more usually due to turbo oil seal failure.
