Hello, I purchased my first Alfa last Sunday and I can certainly say it makes my old Seat Ibiza look utterly rubbish.

I now own a 147 Collezione 3dr, in great condition which happens to be no. 1/500

I drove from Southampton to Birmingham to collect it with my car guru bf. There was some break pad/disc squeal after 30 miles but some break testing soon resolved that. Since then it's all fine apart from noticing my drivers wing mirror won't fold in and seems to be fixed in place. Possibly had a bash in the past so I plan to have a look at that soon..


I'm sure i'll soak up plenty of info here.

the wing mirrors do get stuck, it seems the cure is lots of plusgas or WD40 and then a period of ''persuasion'' with your boot...it's rather a make or break fix but it seems to be the consensus.

you are in Southampton so are lucky enough to have a great Alfa specialist almost on your doorstep...Autolusso Bournemouth. Alfa Romeo Servicing 01202 861699 give Laurence a shout ,it's always good to have an expert cast their eye over your new purchase, I can attest these guys are honest,professional and a thoroughly nice bunch of lads.

Ah thanks for the link, very useful to know.
As for the wing mirror, my first attempt was WD40 as I just assumed the mirror was ceased in place. Actually there is an additional capped screw going through the base up into the mirror surround.
