Thanks Ian and Geoff for all you have done in the past years to make AO a great site

Welcome Steve and as I am sure you can see from the posts already you're going to have a hard time keeping up with us all

I'm sure that there will be changes - some we might not even realise have happened, but after all this site is what it is because of its members - so it's up to us to keep it at its current standard :D

Admin Helper....

Not sure it's intentional or by accident, but you are unable to receive PM's.
Or at least that's the message I get when I try to send you one.
Just wanted to say thanks for deleting the "double posts" and no, the adverts don't slow down the computer, it's fine on much more intricate sites.
But, as the problem is no longer there, all is well! :)

I'd just like to say thanks to Ian and Geoff for setting up such a great site - and I appreciate that whereas we can all flit on and off as suits us; when you're an owner you live it 24/7 365 days of the year and it must become quite tiring after a while.

All the best for the future - and welcome to the new owners :):):)
For once I agree with what my brother said :)

I can empathise with Geoff about how making babies can interfer with AO time - since Elinor was born I've not been able to be on here as much as I would have (not that that is necessary a bad thing ). Anyway, I hope Ian and Geoff make the most of all the free time they now have and I look forwards to Tyreforums continuing to improve the site

Thanks Ian and Geoff for setting up the infrastructure and working so hard to maintain it for all our benefit.

Welcome Steve and I hope it is a seamless transition that keeps all the members on board since that is where the real value lies.

And sell the Evo (or at least hide it). Entirely inappropriate and you could be infracted for it.;)

Welcome Steve, I must say my brother in law has just bought an evo 10 and i went on the evo owners site to show him he could start socialising with other evo owners, the site was same lay out as this but the conversations were boring nothing like Alfa. Alfa is best not Evo :)

Ian, Geoff. I'm really sad this is happening but I understand your reasons. I joined in 2005 and AO kept me going through some really dark days.

Ian, I know you well enough to consider a true friend & I have mucho respect for you as a person.

Steve, you do have a hard act to follow - I know nothing of the other forums you manage but they'll have to be something very special to come close to AO, especially as it so much more that "just" a forum:D

All the best to you (all)

Just a quick Thank you to Ian as well. We ( I speak on behalf of the South Africans ) are trully appreciative of allowing us to have our own little section for South Africa.

Ian, was always supportive and over time we have built up a real community that is a force to be reckoned with in SA.

All the best mate:thumbs:

Steve, all the best and I hope its a successful venture:thumbs:

I would just like to add my thanks for such a positive response, I would also like to personally thank Hans for his work with alfaowner. Hans did most of the early design work on AO and also designs the banners for us right up to the one you see today. Past and present moderators and regionals have also been a massive part in what we are today, we cannot take all the credit alone as without the glorious help of our staff, AO would have failed many years ago.

There has been some very nice messages written, so thank you for those as they really make a difference...

Just saw this as no connection all weekend.

Ian, Geoff, you've clearly done a fab job, I joined Alfaowner expecting beardy wierdies and have instead made great friends and had an amazing experience!

I wish you both all the best in future endeavours :)

Welcome Steve :) I assume they warned you about us?

Welcome to AlfaOwner, Steve. :)

I was looking at your forum list and thought one of them was for welders, or possibly owners of Russian military aircraft. I was disappointed.

What will your first Alfa be, and how long until you order it?

Ian & Geoff, in the words of the dolphins, so long and thanks for all the fish.

Are you still here?

Only joking :)
Thanks for all the hardwork you've both put in over the years. It was great to meet you at last years FoS.

Assume you'll be sticking around anyway with two alfa's to look after :)
